The Opportunity
In this role you will have the opportunity to :
- Function as a technical Lead substation design engineer for FACTS projects involving (distribution, sub transmission and transmission level voltage classes)
- Utilize resources available for safety and regulatory standards (IEEE, IEC, NEC, NESC, NERC, ISO / RTO) to effectively define project requirements, review project deliverables (physical, P&C, power system design) and collaborate with owner and OEM resources (subject matter experts, internal engineering, and project management).
- Work on other aspects of design that are non-standard for substation engineers, so the person should be willing to conduct research to locate required white papers, brochures, publications, or standards and bring themselves up to speed.
- Convey technical information to the project team, which may include stakeholders with varying levels of technical expertise.
- Lead internal discussions with the owner engineering team to close out technical or project management topics.
