As a Gridtern, you will primarily work within the Plant Accounting & Reconciliations group, contributing to process improvement initiatives that enhance data accuracy and streamline reporting tools. Your efforts will directly support the team in maintaining accurate asset records and providing financial insights that inform key business decisions.

Corporate Affairs - National Grid Partners (NGP) (Brooklyn, NY)

Our Corporate Affairs team within National Grid Partners manages all aspects of communications, including public relations, social media, blogs, case studies, events, and marketing materials. This team acts as a link between National Grid and our startups and innovation programs. Additionally, they spearhead company-wide innovation initiatives and collaborate with the NextGrid Alliance, a network of senior innovation executives from over 120 global utilities. Simultaneously, they review and invest in emerging technology companies to accelerate the future of energy and assess new technologies to support the growth of our organization.

As a Gridtern, you will assist in producing portfolio company case studies and blogs, help maintain our website, manage the content calendar, and support our content strategy within our internal Viva Engage community. You will also aid in event planning and collaborate on various projects with Directors and the Vice President of Marketing. This is a unique opportunity to enhance your communication skills, work alongside industry leaders, and be part of an innovation hub that is shaping the future of energy.

FERC Revenue Requirements (Brooklyn, NY)

Our Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) Revenue Requirements (FERC RR) team is responsible for calculating transmission revenue requirements and rates, as well as preparing related FERC filings for National Grid operating companies under FERC jurisdiction. You'll prepare and provide monthly support charge estimates and reserves to the Accounting team during financial close and assist with updating the Transmission Handbook to reflect current tariffs and rate recovery processes for National Grid Transmission Rates. In addition, you will help with the annual true-up billing of interconnection customers by gathering billing details, calculating true-up amounts, and preparing support documentation. This role will allow you to build financial and analytical skills while gaining exposure to key processes that support National Grid's transmission operations.

NYC Corporate Affairs (Brooklyn, NY)

Our New York City Corporate Affairs team serves as the bridge between National Grid and the communities that we serve. This team manages strategic relationships with customers, community leaders, and elected officials to support business goals and enhance our public presence. Their work includes customer advocacy, civic engagement, stakeholder relations, and issue resolution, all aimed at delivering a positive impact across New York City. The team also plays a key role in supporting the transition to a clean, fair, and affordable energy future by advocating for customer needs, facilitating community partnerships, and engaging with government leaders.

As a Gridtern, you will gain exposure to energy initiatives, civic partnerships, and government relations. You'll support the delivery of programs and communications that enhance customer satisfaction, community engagement, and stakeholder collaboration. In addition, you will assist with event logistics, help maintain internal tracking systems, and support compliance-related documentation. This opportunity will also allow you to contribute to projects focused on energy efficiency, economic development, and customer advocacy, while building valuable experience in community and stakeholder relations.

Our Resource Coordination team, part of the Resource Management organization, is essential in executing our annual CapEx and OpEx work plans. This team focuses on scheduling the right work at the right time with the appropriate field resources. By collaborating closely with Engineering and Operations, they prioritize, schedule, and track the work that ensures our system operates smoothly.

As a Gridtern, you will support projects focused on data management, enhancing scorecards, building work packages, and exploring automation opportunities. Your contributions will improve how the team tracks program health, performance, and progress through streamlined reporting and real-time updates. You will also assist in enhancing team hub and SharePoint resources and have the unique opportunity to join site visits to observe the field work you helped schedule and coordinate. This role offers a dynamic, collaborative environment that will sharpen your technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Social Impact & Community Engagement, Group Corporate Affairs (Brooklyn, NY)

Our Social Impact & Community Engagement (SICE) Operations team is a global team within Social Impact and Community Engagement that ensures a consistent approach to measuring and tracking activities in support of our Responsible Business Charter (RBC) goals. This team develops, manages, and maintains systems such as platforms and portals for employee volunteering, matching gifts, charitable contributions, grant-making, and more. In addition, they track colleague participation on nonprofit boards, committees, and associations, while setting the strategy for future participation across the company.

As a Gridtern, you will pull data from our volunteer platform to analyze and report volunteer hours, event activities, and engagement. Since this data is needed by various business units, you will sort information by region, state, country, department, and team, ensuring that it is displayed in a clear and digestible format - making data visualization an important skill. In this role, you will also be supporting our Grants team by pulling and analyzing similar reports for various business unit stakeholders. In addition, there will be special projects throughout, including helping to build our Social Impact & Community Engagement Operations presentation materials, contributing to our intranet presence, and enhancing our greater SharePoint site.
