Research Operations Manager
This position will be primarily responsible for managing the Department of Emergency Medicine research administration, research staffing, operational processes, and infrastructure, under the leadership of the Vice Chair / Associate Vice Chairs for Research. The Department of Emergency Medicine has a large, diverse research portfolio of over $40 million from funders such as the National Institutes of Health, the Department of Defense, the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute, health foundations, and others. There are 27 research faculty and more than 50 research staff across 11 teams and programs. Research domains span clinical trials, pragmatic research, health services research, basic animal research, epidemiology, clinical informatics, public health research, and implementation science. Ensuring efficiency, adherence to university and funder policies and regulatory requirements, and supporting career development, healthy teams, collaboration, and innovation are a major goal of the department research enterprise.
This role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 3 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings. The Department of Emergency Medicine conducts research into areas such as trauma, injury prevention, opioid misuse, critical care, mental health, pharmacogenomics, toxicology, global health, and healthcare policy.
