Golin San Francisco is on the hunt for a dynamic, experienced Manager (Senior Account Executive) to join our award-winning team to support our technology clients. We are seeking someone who is curious, highly motivated and interested in how technology is transforming our lives at work and at home. We are looking for an energetic and ambitious team member with a collaborative mindset, earned media orientation, account management experience, and B2B / enterprise tech background to develop and drive key client programs. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of agency experience.

We call this role a "Cata-Connector" a powerful fusion of our Catalyst and Connector roles at Golin.

A strategic account manager and trusted client partner who thrives on driving the execution of campaigns and delivering standout results. You anticipate client needs before they arise, elevate client service standards, and energize the broader team to consistently exceed expectations. You're a seasoned Tech PR expert with a passion for product and tech news making, brand storytelling, innovation storylines, and execution in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment.

As a Connector, you are :

A relentless media relations powerhouse navigating the entire tech media landscape. Shaping stories to stand out among the thousands of pitches reporters receive every day. Golin Connectors don't just reactively wait for ideas to pitch to media, they proactively hunt for opportunities. Not waiting for stories to come to you, but creating them. They have their finger on the pulse of cultural moments and real-time trends our clients can leverage and turn those ideas into nationally covered media stories. They're smart, scrappy, persistent, and hungry for coverage, always finding creative ways to tell our clients' stories. They follow the industry, read the news and reporting, see the work that's winning, and are driven to put points on the board for our clients.

What You'll Do :

  • First and foremost, develop and secure compelling, earned-first media content for Fortune 500 enterprise / B2B technology brands.
  • In addition to securing coverage for upcoming products and technology launches, you'll be responsible for proactively creating earned media opportunities in all types of media, from trade, vertical, business / financial, technology, broadcast, national and local outlets.
  • Hold and set a high bar for executing smart and relevant ideas, impactful execution of client programs, and smooth program management.
  • Build, nurture and leverage your relationships with media for the benefit of the agency and its enterprise / B2B technology clients.
  • Serve as an integral member of the account team addressing the varied and changing needs of clients, proactively providing thoughtful ideas and solutions.
  • Have a command of the client's business and use that knowledge to collaborate with internal team members to develop and execute earned media campaigns. Using that knowledge to become a "go-to" resource for your team and your client.
  • Look for relevant cultural moments and trends that clients can leverage every day, then turn those into impactful media opportunities.
  • Problem-solve in a fast-paced environment while providing strong client counsel and develop and sell-in media strategy.
  • Interact with teams and clients to present strategic recommendations, with the ability to address challenges and opportunities.
  • Guide junior account staff and help them grow their careers.
  • Collaborate with teams across multiple disciplines and geographies to successfully manage complex, fast-moving, communications needs and challenges.
  • Join a culture of collective support, growth and partnership among agency teams and clients.
  • Occasionally contribute to new business projects to expand and grow the agency's technology client roster.

Who You Are :

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism or related field with 3+ years of agency experience preferred (client-side experience welcomed, too).
  • Understand what earned PR tactics reach enterprise / B2B technology audiences and how to replicate it for our clients.
  • Sophisticated understanding of earned media strategy and experience creating media plans. Strong portfolio of story placements.
  • Experience working with enterprise / B2B technology brands and the media outlets and journalists that cover them.
  • Passion for client service and an ability to juggle multiple projects and changing priorities in real-time.
  • Strong attention to detail and polished, client-ready materials.
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven experience managing complex or integrated PR projects, including reviewing and creating client-ready deliverables.
  • Superior writing and editing skills that can communicate creatively and in an engaging manner. Understand how to meet client KPIs and how to explain the value PR delivers for enterprise / B2B brands.
  • Curiosity for all-things-technology and a real-time pulse on the industry.
  • Golin has included the base salary range or hourly rate for this role. Actual compensation offered within the range will depend upon, among other factors : a candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience; actual ranges for current or former employees in the role; and market considerations.

    Salary range : $70,000 - $95,000
