How You'll Perform the Role

The Human Resources Assistant for Novolex, you will provide crucial support in various HR functions, including recruitment, employee records management, benefits, and employee relations. The Human Resources Assistant will play a pivotal role in maintaining a positive employee experience and ensuring compliance with HR policies and procedures.

Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities :

  • Daily review of employee timecards for accuracy and weekly payroll processing.

Assist with the full recruitment process, including job postings, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and processing background checks.

  • Collaborate with HR Manager and hiring managers to understand staffing needs and requirements for each position.
  • Coordinate and facilitate new employee onboarding activities, including preparing necessary paperwork, conducting orientation sessions, and ensuring a smooth transition into the company.
  • Create and maintain employee records, including personal information and employment contracts.
  • Manage the offboarding process for departing employees, ensuring all necessary paperwork and exit interview is completed and company assets are returned
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure a smooth transition for the departing employee and their team.
  • Assist in implementing employee engagement initiatives to foster a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Coordinate and organize company-wide events, such as team-building activities, employee recognition programs, and wellness initiatives.
  • Support the HR Manager in conducting surveys and collecting feedback to identify areas of improvement.
  • All other duties as assigned.
  • What We Need From You

  • High School or equivalent.
  • Bilingual in English / Spanish preferred
  • 3 years' experience as an HR Assistant or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of HR processes, including payroll, recruitment, onboarding, offboarding, and employee engagement.
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems and applicant tracking systems.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
