Position Description

We are looking for a Natural Gas Engineer to join our ICE Team to improve infrastructure in our Michigan offices. The candidate must have a bachelor\'s degree in Civil Engineering (or related engineering field), and have seven to fifteen years of similar work experience. Michigan natural gas utility experience and a Professional Engineer License is preferred. The candidate must also be self-motivated, work well with others, and have excellent writing, organizational, and communication skills. A flexible hybrid-remote work schedule is available after 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Design detailed gas distribution systems
• Design medium, standard, high pressure steel and plastic gas mains and services
• Vertical and horizontal alignment creation
• Design regulator stations / districts
• Compression station design experience is a plus
• Horizontal directional drill (HDD) modeling is a plus
• Complete applicable design calculations
• Prepare installation drawings and specifications / notes
• Coordinate preparation of specifications and permit submittals
• Prepare preliminary project cost estimates and evaluate quantities
• Assist with / review scope, budget, and schedule of new project tasks
• Monitor task budget and progress
• Work with and mentor junior design team
• Document design changes and communications
• Conduct on-site inspections as needed
• Prepare project status and other reports
• Assist in the preparation of proposals
• Assist and develop into a Project Manager
• Attend client, public, project and staff meetings including client progress, plan review, pre-construction, etc.
• Attend seminars and / or training classes
• Maintain excellent client relations
• Maintain a safe working environment
