Job Description
A mission-driven organization in Newton is seeking a dynamic and experienced Program Associate to help advance its impactful work. Reporting to the Deputy Director, this role offers the opportunity to build on the organization’s legacy while contributing to the growth and innovation of its programs and grant-making. The Program Associate will provide high-level executive support, manage partnerships, and ensure effective implementation of initiatives aligned with the organization’s vision for social change.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide executive-level administrative support, including complex scheduling, meeting preparation, travel coordination, and expense tracking.
- Draft and edit correspondence, reports, presentations, and briefing materials for leadership and stakeholders.
- Support the design, implementation, and evaluation of innovative programs and grant-making initiatives.
- Oversee program activities and grant cycles, ensuring timely planning, execution, and follow-up.
- Coordinate consultants, community leaders, and partners, monitoring performance and outcomes.
- Track program impact and grantee progress, preparing reports and summaries for internal and external use.
- Organize events, community forums, and stakeholder meetings, representing the organization when needed.
- Collaborate with the communications team to develop content for newsletters, website, and outreach materials.
- Contribute to budget development and monitoring in partnership with the Business Manager.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.4+ years of experience in philanthropy, nonprofits, or related fields with knowledge of grant-making.2–3 years of project management experience, including planning and evaluation.Strong program design, research, writing, and communication skills.Experience in budget management and event coordination.Proven track record of providing executive-level administrative support.Preferred Skills
Ability to lead and motivate with a collaborative approach.Experience building national or international programs.Comfort working in a small, family office environment.Social media, website, or marketing experience a plus.Compensation
