Director of HR Business Partners
The Director of HR Business Partners is a key member of the Human Resources leadership team responsible for leading and developing the HRBP function across the organization. This role partners with executive and senior leaders to align people strategies with business objectives, drive organizational effectiveness, and ensure a consistent, high-impact HRBP model. The Director will oversee a team of HR Business Partners, serve as a trusted advisor to leadership, and play a critical role in shaping culture, talent strategies, and organizational growth. A key metric will be reducing overall employment and labor litigation spend.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership
- Lead the HRBP function, setting strategic direction, establishing priorities, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Partner with executives and senior leaders to drive organizational effectiveness, workforce planning, and succession strategies.
- Provide strategic counsel on complex people, organizational, and change issues.
- Executive & Business Partnering
- Serve as a thought partner to senior leadership on workforce strategy, organizational design, leadership development, and employee engagement.
- Influence leaders through data-driven insights, workforce analytics, and talent metrics.
- Anticipate business needs and proactively design HR solutions that enable operational excellence.
- Team Development & Oversight
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of HR Business Partners.
- Ensure consistent delivery of HRBP services and elevate the HRBP role as a strategic, trusted business partner.
- Build team capability in areas such as employee relations, performance management, talent development, and change management.
- Employee Relations & Compliance
- Oversee resolution of complex and sensitive employee relations matters.
- Ensure fair, consistent application of policies and practices across the organization.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local labor / employment laws.
- Culture, Engagement & Change Management
- Drive initiatives to foster a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.
- Lead change management strategies, including communications, leadership alignment, and transition planning.
- Collaboration with HR Centers of Excellence (COEs)
- Partner closely with COEs (Talent Acquisition, Compensation & Benefits, Learning & Development, HRIS, etc.) to deliver integrated HR solutions.
- Ensure business unit needs and feedback inform HR program design and execution.
Qualifications
Education : Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required. Master's degree or HR certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) strongly preferred.Experience : Minimum of 10 12 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in a senior HRBP or HR leadership role.Proven track record leading HRBP teams in complex, matrixed organizations.Deep knowledge of employment law, organizational design, and change management.Experience in healthcare, hospital, or unionized environments highly desirable.Exceptional leadership, communication, and influencing skills.Saint Joseph's Medical Center is an equal opportunity employer.
