Project Manager
The Project Manager will be responsible for :
- Establishing effective communications with the client, architect, engineers and contractors
- In conjunction with the Estimating and Accounting Departments, initiating cost control and reporting procedures.
- Ensuring that a project safety program is established and carried out using current company guidelines. Coordinating with the Corporate Safety Director and / or the Regional Safety Manager
- Ensuring that weekly safety audits are regularly performed. Regularly reviewing the project for safety related issues and ensuring any safety issues are immediately addressed. Periodically participating in Tool Box talks and other job site safety meetings to exhibit management's commitment to safety.
- In conjunction with the Superintendent and Project Engineer, ensuring that an initial project schedule is issued. The Project Manager has ultimate responsibility to ensure an initial schedule is issued and corporate scheduling policies are followed. Actively managing the schedule including the critical path and all milestones to ensure project completion goals are exceeded or met. Ensuring the project schedule is updated no less than monthly.
- Initiating project controls and documentation (daily, weekly & monthly reports, RFI's, field orders, minutes and correspondence.) Overseeing and ensuring these are maintained through the life of the project.
- Completing pre-award conference checklist, exhibits and draft subcontracts and purchase orders. Ensuring all proposed subcontractors are pre-qualified.
- Formulating goals and objectives of the project and illustrating them in detailed project schedules of both time and values. In conjunction with the Project Executive or Regional Operations Manager, reviewing with the team and identifying baseline profit goals and submitting to the Operations Manager and Business Unit Vice President.
- Coordinating staffing requirements with the Regional Operations Manager and / or General Superintendent.
- Managing financial aspects of contracts, including changes orders, applications for payment, contractor and supplier payments, equipment rentals, back charges, etc. Preparing a monthly financial projection and attending a monthly financial review with the Vice President of Operations or Regional Operations Manager.
- Monitoring and controlling construction activity and representing the company at project meetings. Setting up post award pre-construction meetings with large, key sub-contractors and performing a "page turn" review of the project with the designated team.
- Preparing and participating in a post-project evaluation to carry "lessons learned" to future projects.
- Taking lead on quality control and ensuring measures are taken within policy. Overseeing control logs, deviation reports and other QC measures to ensure not only deviations are acknowledged but resolved in a timely manner. Overseeing that all appropriate as-builts are received and submitted in a timely manner.
- Actively mentoring the project team and assisting younger staff where appropriate to ensure long term company success.
- Establishing early closeouts goals and overseeing the closeout process to ensure timely closeout, warranty and final as built submission and final payment are achieved in a timely manner.
- Performing additional assignments as directed by Project Executive and / or Regional Operations Manager

The Project Manager will have :
Bachelors in Construction Management, Engineering or related fieldMinimum of 5 years' experience in construction or an equivalent combination of training and experience.Knowledge of construction, design, finance and management plus thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, standards and procedures required.Superior communication and interpersonal skills, tact and diplomacy essential.Previous GC or CM experienceThe Project Manager will be offered :
