Overview
We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Accountant to join our accounting team supporting a diverse portfolio of real estate properties. This role is responsible for managing high-volume invoice processing, billing creation, and vendor and customer communication across multiple entities. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and thrives in a fast-paced environment with a focus on accuracy and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Process a high volume of AP invoices across multiple properties, ensuring accurate coding, approvals, and timely payments.
Create and issue billing for assigned properties and tenants, maintaining accuracy and consistency across all accounts.
Manage vendor relationships, including setup, communication, and resolution of billing or payment discrepancies.
Reconcile vendor statements, research variances, and ensure outstanding invoices are resolved promptly.
Support weekly and monthly payment runs (checks, ACH, and wires) with complete supporting documentation.
Assist with customer billing inquiries and maintain strong communication with property managers and internal teams.
Maintain organized records to support internal controls, audits, and month-end close activities.
Collaborate with the accounting team to streamline AP and billing processes and implement best practices.
Assist with 1099 preparation and year-end reporting as needed.
Qualifications
3+ years of experience in Accounts Payable or Accounting, ideally within real estate, property management, or multi-entity environments.
Proven experience managing high invoice volume across multiple properties or cost centers.
Strong understanding of billing, vendor management, and general ledger coding.
Proficiency in Excel and experience with ERP or property management systems (e.g., Yardi, MRI, RealPage, or similar).
Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills with both internal and external partners.
