We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Project Accountant to join our team. This exciting opportunity will see you working within our construction division, specifically focusing on multifamily projects. You will play a critical role in managing the financial aspects of our construction projects, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance. This role is permanent and full-time, offering a fantastic opportunity for career growth and development.
Responsibilities :
As a Senior Project Accountant, your key responsibilities will include :
1. Overseeing all financial aspects of our multifamily construction projects, from start to finish.
2. Managing job costing processes, ensuring that all costs are accurately recorded and tracked.
3. Preparing and processing invoices, ensuring timely and accurate billing.
4. Conducting year-end close procedures, ensuring all financial records are accurate and up-to-date.
5. Maintaining the ledger, recording all financial transactions and ensuring accuracy.
6. Utilizing Timberline and Viewpoint software to manage and track project finances.
7. Managing Work in Progress (WIP) schedules, tracking project progress and costs.
8. Handling Time and Material (T&M) billing and change orders, ensuring accurate and timely billing.
9. Processing lien waivers, ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed and filed.
10. Collaborating with project managers and other team members to ensure financial accuracy and efficiency.
11. Providing financial reports and updates to senior management, as required.
Qualifications :
To be successful in this role, you will need :
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the construction industry.
2. Proven experience with job costing, invoicing, year-end close procedures, and ledger maintenance.
3. Experience with Timberline and Viewpoint software.
4. Familiarity with WIP schedules, T&M billing, change orders, and lien waivers.
5. A strong understanding of the financial aspects of construction projects, particularly multifamily projects.
6. Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail.
7. Strong communication and collaboration skills.
8. The ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
9. A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
