Animal Services Specialist
Reporting directly to the Animal Services Assistant Manager, responsible for front-desk operations and customer service at the Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter (WCRAS). Level I of II in Animal Services Specialists.
Examples of Work Performed :
- Performs front-desk reception and customer service
- Processes intake of stray, owner-surrendered, community cats, and rabies-quarantine animals
- Reviews animal microchip data : may contact microchip company, veterinarian and / or registered pet owners to facilitate return
- Records documentation of animal health, behavior, medication, and vaccination status
- Reviews and processes applications and provides counseling for adoptions and fosters
- Processes payments, issues receipt and balances a cash drawer
- Performs data entry and maintains electronic documentation files
- Receives and distributes deliveries of supplies and donations
- Performs janitorial duties to maintain the administrative areas of the shelter
- Follows all safety measures and policies, including proper animal restraints and reading animal behavioral cues, and promptly reports any safety incidents to leadership
- Performs special duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalentOne (1) year of administrative experience, preferably in a customer-service roleOne (1) year cash-handling experienceLicenses and Certifications :
