JOB SUMMARY

The Program Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of mobile crisis response teams and other behavioral health staff funded under the Illinois Program 590 and 591. This role ensures crisis services are delivered in accordance with state regulations, grant deliverables, and SAMHSA’s core principles of trauma-informed and recovery-oriented care. The Supervisor ensures 24 / 7 team coverage, monitors compliance and performance standards, and provides clinical oversight and support to crisis responders in the field.

We are hiring two Program Supervisors :

Program 590 – Responsible for both shifts (7 : 00 a.m.–7 : 00 p.m. and 7 : 00 p.m.–7 : 00 a.m.), working an 8-hour schedule, 5 days per week.

Program 591 – Responsible for both shifts (10 : 00 a.m.–10 : 00 p.m.), working an 8-hour schedule, 5 days per week.

JOB DUTIES

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and / or ability required :
  • Supervise daily activities of crisis response teams, including scheduling, shift coverage, and field deployment.
  • Ensure 24 / 7 availability of mobile crisis services in compliance with Program 590 / 591 requirements.
  • Provide real-time consultation, debriefing, and clinical support to staff during and after crisis calls.
  • Facilitate regular team meetings, case reviews, and training to ensure quality care and staff development.
  • Ensure all individuals referred to the crisis system are served promptly and according to protocol.
  • Monitor adherence to Medicaid Rule 140, IDHS requirements, and crisis care best practices.
  • Maintain and review documentation for accuracy, completeness, and timeliness in accordance with grant expectations.
  • Assist the Program Director with data collection and reporting for IDHS deliverables.
  • Collaborate with community partners, including law enforcement, 911 dispatch, hospitals, and 988 call centers to ensure coordinated crisis response.
  • Participate in local System of Care (SOC) and IDHS meetings as required.
  • Represent the agency in crisis planning committees or collaborative initiatives.
  • On-call availability may be required on a rotating basis.
  • Some travel within the service region may be required (e.g., to crisis sites, hospitals, or community meetings).
  • This position is contingent on continued funding from the Illinois Program 590 / 591.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree in social work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field.
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), or equivalent in Illinois (Required).
  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in behavioral health or crisis intervention settings.
  • Experience in managing and coordinating mobile crisis or emergency mental health services.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care, suicide prevention, de-escalation techniques, and crisis stabilization.

  • Ensure 24 / 7 mobile crisis team coverage through effective scheduling and on-call rotation.
  • Monitor compliance with state, federal, and grant requirements by conducting regular documentation audits and staff performance reviews.
  • Improve response time and efficiency in the field by optimizing deployment and communication strategies.
  • Strengthen staff support through consistent clinical supervision, coaching, and group debriefings.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and balance as needed.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds with or without assistance.
  • Manual dexterity to operate standard patient care equipment and perform routine clinical tasks.
  • Visual and auditory ability to observe and respond to patient needs, including operation of equipment and communication with staff / patients.
  • May be exposed to infectious diseases, bodily fluids, and varying patient behaviors.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
