Job Summary

This position is 50% remote / 50% on site(s). Union or Union management experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides civil support for national construction projects.
• Directs administration and training of construction personnel for national construction projects.
• Develops standard operating procedures for construction execution to minimize cost and duration of activities.
• Monitors, evaluates, and reports civil performance of assigned projects to the Operations Manager.
• Provides recommendations to Operations Manager regarding project civil staff assignments / teams.
• Acts as liaison between construction and engineering for all concrete-related matters.
• Ensures all Construction Projects meet client-specified civil quality standards.
• Supports site Superintendents in developing SOPs, man-loaded and equipment-loaded schedules, staging plans, bills of materials, and quality control plans.
• Leads weekly civil superintendent calls to discuss safety, quality, productivity, and resource needs.
• Establishes and maintains relationships with key clients, alliance partners, subcontractors, and project teams.
• Communicates lessons learned and reviews project budgets / unit rates with assigned superintendents to ensure alignment with company earning rules.
• Coordinates and tracks equipment assignments with site teams and CEFs, maintaining an up-to-date spreadsheet.
• Directs corrective action for discipline problems or poor performance; involves Department and HR as required.
• Enforces division and department policies, standards, and procedures.
• Provides supervision, training, development, and performance management of direct reports.
• Adheres to safety and quality standards relevant to duties and accountabilities.
• Identifies opportunities for improvement and champions continuous improvement efforts; supports change management as needed.
• Travel to support sites when and where needed.

Preferred Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in construction or heavy industrial experience preferred, or relevant experience. 3+ years of construction management experience. All applicants must complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (background check, drug screen, motor vehicle records) per applicable laws and regulations.

Work Environment / Physical Demands

Physical Demands : Lift up to 50 pounds; stand, kneel, bend, stoop, move, and walk long distances; see and hear; full range of motion; use hands to handle tools; repetitive movements; may work above 5 feet; climb and balance on steel framework, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds; may work up to a 12 hour shift in varying temperatures and outside conditions.

Work Environment : Typical construction site environment; cramped spaces; exposure to extreme temperatures and inclement weather; loud noise; hazardous equipment; some office environment; this is a safety-sensitive position.
