Attorney - Regulatory

Overview

Responsible for providing legal analysis and consultation to business partners on impacts in an environment that is continuously evolving. The Attorney will partner closely with the business to determine its goals, assess risk, and provide creative solutions.

Responsibilities

• Proactively identifies and analyzes legal issues and risks, presents clear opinions, advice and recommendations, and helps ensure legal compliance across the full spectrum of the enterprise.
• Drafts a variety of legal documents and memos, opinions, and pleadings where appropriate, with guidance from the senior attorney on the most complex matters.
• Serves as experienced counsel for substantive areas of law as required with ability to quickly learn unfamiliar areas of law.
• Effectively partner with business leaders in identifying and evaluating business objectives, legal risks, and liabilities to achieve overall business objectives by providing support and counsel beyond strictly legal advice.
• Engages within department by serving as a resource for junior colleagues, developing or enhancing precedents, guidance notes and other know-how for benefit of entire department.
• Actively contributes to wider business activity through participation in cross-functional teams and considers the commercial impact when applying legal and regulatory principles to develop practical and workable solutions.
• Proactively assumes additional responsibilities and performs special projects or investigations as needed.
