Job Title : Stormwater Collection System Maintenance Worker
Under general supervision, performs manual laboring tasks associated with streets and stormwater collection systems and performs related duties as assigned.
The following duties have been provided as examples of the essential types of work performed by positions within this job classification. Management reserves the right to add, modify, change or rescind work assignments as needed.
- Cleans and maintains drainage ditches, swales, culverts and stormwater collection systems;
- Assists crews in constructing and maintaining sidewalks, headwalls, driveways, stormwater collection systems and related maintenance tasks;
- Operates a variety of vehicles and equipment;
- Restores work area to original condition;
- Supports and actively promotes the City's safety programs. Follows standard operating procedures, observes safety practices and reports potential safety hazards;
Knowledge of street and storm drainage construction, maintenance practices and procedures including the proper use of tools and equipment; Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety practices applicable to construction and maintenance work; Ability to safely operate assigned vehicles, power or hand tools and equipment; Ability to follow written and oral instructions; Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, co-workers and the general public; Ability to communicate effectively.

City vehicles (truck and trailer), ATV, lawn mower, tiller, concrete saw, concrete mixer, weedeater, blower, compactor, chain saw, ax, pitch fork, rakes, shovels, hoes and common hand tools.Education and experience :
A minimum of one (1) year of construction maintenance or other experience in performing heavy manual labor in an outdoor environment.Licenses / certifications :
Possession of a valid driver's license, Class E; Class B preferred;Ability to obtain a valid Confined Space Certificate within 6 months;FDOT Flagging Certification within 12 months.Stormwater license C preferred.
