Overview
Lead Consultant - Building Technology Systems role at WSP in the U.S., based in San Francisco. Other locations may be considered. You will join the Building Technology Systems Team on high-quality projects that meet client objectives and address challenges. Responsibilities
- Provide designs for complex audiovisual systems (office, commercial, higher education, performing arts spaces, hospitals and more), including audiovisual cabling systems, pathway infrastructure and audiovisual control systems.
- Coordinate with clients to gather and document system and design requirements.
- Create design narratives and coordinated construction documents (drawings and CSI format specifications).
- Deliver technical drawings in coordination with REVIT / CAD production staff.
- Participate in project meetings (local and remote) with the design team and clients.
- Participate in construction meetings, review and respond to AV system submittals and RFIs.
- Perform site surveys to document construction progress.
- Coordinate integration of audiovisual systems with other intelligent building systems (BMS, lighting control, digital signage, etc.).
- Apply local and national codes and standards (NEC, IBC, NFPA, AVIXA, EIA / TIA).
- Actively participate in industry events (speaking, contributing to papers / articles, etc.).
- Present technical solutions and project updates to the team and clients.
- Lead in developing work plans to address technical issues within project time and budget.
- Contribute to staffing considerations and help retain and engage key employees.
- Provide leadership in technical and professional activities on projects and develop solid client relationships.
- Obtain additional professional licenses / certifications and pursue ongoing education.
- Mentor junior staff and foster knowledge sharing.
Qualifications
Possess a four-year degree (B.S. in engineering preferred) or equivalent combination of technical degree and related work experience designing technology systems for buildings.Seven to ten years' experience actively designing high-end audiovisual systems for the AEC consulting and engineering industry.Ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance is required.Industry certifications (AVIXA / InfoComm CTS / -D, Extron, Biamp, Crestron, etc.) are a plus but not required.Design experience related to structured cabling systems is a plus but not required.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to organize and present design information to clients.Revit experience desired.Proficiency in Microsoft Office.Comfortable working directly with federal and public clients, architects and building owners.Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds and resources; adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies.Proven commitment to workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug / alcohol and harassment policies.Benefits

Estimated salary range : $114,000 – $160,000. WSP USA reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range based on qualifications and location.
