Payroll Processor
Responsibilities :
- Process regular payroll for semi-monthly pay cycles, ensuring accuracy.
- Review and verify time and attendance records.
- Resolve any discrepancies or issues in payroll data.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date employee payroll files and records.
- Respond to employee payroll inquiries professionally and promptly.
- Ensure payroll practices comply with college policies and state and federal wage, hour, and tax laws.
- Generate payroll reports for Human Resources and Finance teams.
- Assist with payroll audits and related tasks as needed.
Qualifications :
Experience in payroll processing and reconciliation.Proficiency with ERP or payroll software.Minimum of 1 year of experience in payroll or accounting, with 12 years preferred.Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools, including Excel and Word.Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.Clear communication skills.Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and maintain integrity.High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field is preferred.Pay and Benefits :
The pay range for this position is $40000.00 - $65000.00 / yr. As a participating member of the Maryland Retirement and Pension System, HCC offers two retirement options : The Pension, which requires a 7% employee contribution and The ORP, a 403(b) with a 7.25% employer contribution only. Employees in positions that do not require a bachelor's degree must participate in The Pension. Employees that possess a bachelor's degree and hold professional positions that require a bachelor's degree may choose to participate in either The Pension or The ORP.
