A leading engineering and technology solutions firm is seeking a Critical Facilities Technician to join their data center team near Salt Lake City, Utah. This role is responsible for maintaining all electrical, mechanical, and fire / life safety systems within mission-critical facilities to ensure 24 / 7 operational up-time.

About the Opportunity :
Schedule : Full-time, on site
Training : Completion of Critical Facility Technician training within the first 30 days of employment
Travel : May be required between data center sites
Responsibilities :
Performing preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical, mechanical, and life safety equipment
Responding to emergencies and serving as first responder for facility incidents
Conducting daily walk-throughs, documenting equipment parameters, and identifying discrepancies or trends
Troubleshooting and repairing equipment using MOPs, SOPs, OEM manuals, and industry best practices
Supporting CET3 / 4 technicians on advanced procedures and assisting in training junior staff
Operating and isolating power, cooling, and life safety systems, including UPS, generators, chillers, CRAC units, fuel systems, BMS / EPMS, and fire alarms
Ensuring compliance with safety standards, regulations, and proper documentation within CMMS
Qualifications :
6+ years of electrical, mechanical, or fire / life safety experience
3+ years working in a data center environment OR equivalent experience in a critical facility
High School Diploma or equivalent
U.S. Citizenship required; must hold or have ability to obtain Active Secret Clearance
EPA Certification and experience with chillers (300+ tons), boilers, and HVAC systems
Ability to read wiring diagrams, blueprints, and construction documents
Strong troubleshooting, problem recognition, and communication skills
Ability to work at heights, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform physically demanding tasks
Desired Skills :
Journeyman Electrician License, Journeyman HVAC License, or equivalent
Experience with advanced refrigeration cycles, heating systems, and cooling load calculations
Familiarity with CMMS, BMS, and EPMS systems
