job_description.job_card.job_descriptionBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering Ability to model 3D CAD and create 2D drawings Hands-on experience with assembly and test of electromechanical products Familiarity with thermal analysis of electromechanical systems Familiarity with basic plastic and metal material properties General knowledge of injection molding, die-casting, extrusion, and sheet metal processes Excellent communication skills to both technical and non-technical audiences Experience with design for mid-to-high volume manufacturing from a previous role, co-op, etc. Familiarity with SolidWorks Knowledge of certification bodies and processes (UL, NEC, etc.)
Overview
DMF Lighting is a fast-growing leader in the lighting industry. We are looking for an entry-level mechanical engineer with knowledge of product design and qualification. The candidate will be an integral part of a close-knit and dynamic team with room to innovate, learn and grow rapidly.
Pay range is $70,000-$85,000 (based on skills / knowledge / experience).
Location : Carson, CA (onsite)
Responsibilities
- Design residential and commercial luminaires from concept to mass-manufacturing
- Avoid production, installation, and usage difficulties to ensure a flawless customer experience
- Qualify the products through our multi-step certification processes
- Collaborate with cross-department point-people and drive decision-making so projects are pushed to completion
- Model designs around the basic principles of engineering to meet performance, reliability, cost and quality goals
