Product Engineer - 4Front Engineering Solutions
The Product Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, supporting, and improving new and existing products, components, and prototypes. Ensures product integrity, technical accuracy, and applicability. Location : Muskego, WI.
Essential Job Functions :
- Manage projects, changes, and development processes.
- Design and develop products for assigned projects, including preparing drawings and schematics, developing experimental test programs, and overseeing prototype manufacturing.
- Analyze data to assess the feasibility of designing new or replacement products, considering costs, space, and time constraints.
- Evaluate test and research data to establish performance standards.
- Review Engineering Change Orders to update products and processes; publish technical bulletins and notifications as needed.
- Ensure new products meet quality and cost standards.
- Create and update bills of materials using CAD and ERP systems.
- Support design, prototyping, and validation to improve products.
- Oversee installation and testing of field test units; perform inspections, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs.
- Assess product specifications and performance requirements to ensure manufacturability.
- Investigate returns and manufacturing issues; initiate corrective actions and engineering changes.
- Explore supplier options to reduce costs and lead times.
- Provide technical information on manufacturing techniques, materials, and properties.
- Create product documentation, including manuals, specifications, and layout drawings.
- Develop work instructions for manufacturing and installation processes.
- Monitor market trends, customer feedback, and benchmarking to identify new product opportunities.
- Handle product revisions and customer-requested specials for quoting and manufacturing.
Education and Experience :
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or related field.5-7 years of engineering experience, preferably in product design with manufacturing background.Proficiency with industry drafting and CAD standards.Hands-on experience with products.Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite.Familiarity with ERP systems and software.Knowledge of Adobe InDesign and Illustrator is a plus.LI - Onsite
