Responsibilities

• Provide best-in-class guest service : promptly greet guests; respond to guest questions / concerns quickly, effectively, and courteously; assist guests with meeting their video gaming needs; inform guests of special promotions; recommend additional items as appropriate; apply all selling behaviors during every transaction and thank every guest for shopping at GameStop; prioritize guests over tasks and demonstrate that commitment by circulating throughout the store.
• Support the total shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and the guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business.
• Process guest purchases / return transactions using the POS system accurately and professionally; ensure correct changes, provide receipts, and maintain top-notch guest service.
• Respond to guest comments or questions in person or on the phone; escalate issues to the Store Manager when appropriate.
• Promote GameStop's guest benefits (e.g., new title reservations, trade-in program, Pro Rewards).
• Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations and training store associates in policies, procedures, practices, and guidelines.
• Monitor associate performance, provide timely feedback, and address unsatisfactory performance as directed in alignment with company expectations.
• Provide recognition and feedback to associates; document feedback in the HR system in partnership with the Store Manager.
• Ensure associates complete onboarding, job training, and compliance training before opening / closing shifts; know policies, inventory control, loss prevention, safety, financial protocol, and ethics.
• Schedule store associates to follow guidelines, manage breaks and meals, and maintain staffing levels for optimum guest service.
• Approve payroll, process time off, and verify pay for all time worked.
• Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and merchandising per guidelines; ensure fixtures and equipment are in proper working order.
• Ensure Omni-Channel orders are fulfilled and shipped daily.
• Protect company assets through inventory control and loss prevention; communicate concerns to the Store Manager.
• Support the team in meeting sales, profit, and shrink goals and complete required administrative duties.
• Perform inventory counts, stock / restock, and ensure products are represented and organized on the floor.
• Count, balance, and reconcile daily transactions in the POS; prepare closeout paperwork and bank deposits per guidelines.
• Verify shipments for discrepancies and conduct inventories; communicate issues to leadership.
• Process defectives / recalls and stock pulls with proper labeling and packing.
• Maintain associate and guest safety; report injuries per guidelines.
• Maintain store records / files and ensure manuals are up to date.
• Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Adhere to all store policies and the Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct; follow opening / closing procedures.

Compensation

$17.75 - $21.75 per hour
