As a Mobile Veterinary Services Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting both clinical and community-based mobile veterinary services. This dual role combines patient care, case management, logistical support, and client education. You'll rotate between mobile clinics, maintaining clinical proficiency while directly supporting community outreach efforts. Compassion, professionalism, and adaptability are essential.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities : Tech Support
- Provide compassionate care and handling of animals in a mobile setting.
- Assist veterinarians in restraining pets for examinations or treatment.
- Maintain clean, sanitary work areas and ensure compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and veterinary board regulations.
- Support patient care and service quality standards by assisting with clinical paperwork and process accuracy.
Customer Service Support
Provide exceptional customer service at mobile clinics and community events.Assist with inventory and preparation of mobile supplies and clinic setup / teardown.Help transport pets for spay / neuter and urgent care appointments.Offer case management to ensure pets and clients have access to necessary services and follow-ups.Manage mobile inboxes, schedule appointments, respond to inquiries, data entry for all events and help coordinate food or supply deliveries.Teamwork & Training
Train and engage volunteers for all outreach and mobile events.Work closely with staff to support all organization programs, goals, and core values.Lead by example in client and team interactions, upholding professionalism and empathy.Help with the upkeep and loading / unloading of the mobile fleet vehicles.Requirements : Qualifications :
2+ years of animal handling or vet tech experience required.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong computer and typing skills; ability to multitask in high-volume environments.Ability to manage priorities, adapt to changing situations, and work both independently and as part of a team.Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record; experience operating vans / box trucks preferred.Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.Physical Requirements :
Frequently required to stand, sit, bend, stoop, walk, lift / push items (25–50+ lbs).Keep up with the physical demands of vaccinating 100-200 pets per event at times.Exposure to outdoor weather, zoonotic diseases, and loud environments.Must be comfortable using animal handling / restraint equipment and logistics tools like pallet jacks and handcarts.
