Location & Hours
Location : Manhattan, New York OR Houston, Texas (4 days a week on-site)
Work Hours : Start times between 7 : 00 AM and 10 : 00 AM; 8-hour days
Salary
100-150K, based on years of experience within this expertise (3-10 years of experience / Multiple roles open)
Position Overview
This role is with a global quantitative investment firm that utilizes data and technology to trade across various markets. The environment is highly collaborative, with researchers and technologists working closely to develop and refine models. It's fast-paced, highly analytical, and offers strong pay for people who enjoy solving complex problems.
Responsibilities
- Manage global trading platform readiness : pre-trading & post-trading
- Provide monitoring and support for end-to-end transaction flow across the trading platform
- Quickly identify, analyze, and correct alerts & issues and / or escalate to minimize trade flow impact and preempt outages
- Incident management : create and send reports following the established process
- Intensive interaction with the trading community, back office operations, brokers, exchanges, development, and infrastructure teams
- Support scheduled changes : application deployments, network implementations, and server maintenance
- Oversee automated processes, scheduled jobs, and regular reports
- Manage users' requests : track requests, review approvals, updates, resolutions, and closures
- Identify inefficiencies such as repetitive activities, manual processes, and suboptimal tools / workflows to drive continuous improvements via automation and collaboration with internal and external teams
Required Qualifications
Hands-on trade flow support experience is a mustProficient in Linux OSProficiency with Bash and a scripting language such as Python or Perl is requiredDetailed practical knowledge of FIX; ideally, familiarity with native exchange protocolsExperience in SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MS SQL)Familiarity with Kdb+ is a plusWorking knowledge with TCP / IP, multicast, tcpdump, clocking (PTP, NTP) – a plusBachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related subjectHighly organized, detailed, control-oriented, enjoys solving problems, and brings in a "take charge" attitudeStrong verbal / written communication skills required to support daily interaction with brokers, exchanges, and internal teamsSelf-motivated individual who takes initiative and has an ownership & accountability mindsetMust show the ability to make quick decisions and establish priorities in a multi-tasking & fast-paced environmentExperience with the Atlassian stack (JIRA, Service Desk, Confluence, Bitbucket, Bamboo), Elastic Stack, and NagiosKnowledge of ITIL is an advantageJ-18808-Ljbffr
