Vice President of Product Development

LHH Recruitment Solutions has partnered with a growing importer and distributor of home décor and consumer goods, and they are seeking a motivated Vice President of Product Development to join their team. This is a high-impact role that will shape the future of product lines for major retailers across North America. This is a unique opportunity to join a collaborative and entrepreneurial team that values creativity, accountability, and results. As Vice President of Product Development, you will drive the end-to-end product creation process, from concept to commercialization, ensuring alignment with the demands of big box and mass retail partners such as Walmart, Target, Costco, and Sam's Club. You'll balance design innovation with commercial viability, financial goals, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities :

• Strategic Leadership : Define and execute product development strategies that support growth objectives and meet mass retailer requirements.
• Trend & Market Analysis : Anticipate consumer and market trends to identify new product categories and design innovations.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration : Partner with sales, operations, and sourcing teams to deliver tailored assortments and programs for leading retailers.
• Design & Lifecycle Management : Oversee the full product lifecycle, ensuring cost, quality, compliance, and speed-to-market standards are met.
• Team Development : Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing product development and design organization, fostering a culture of creativity and accountability.
• Financial Acumen : Set target margins, monitor costing, and achieve profitability goals while continuously evaluating global sourcing strategies.
• Quality & Compliance : Resolve quality issues and compliance challenges, ensuring products meet retailer-specific requirements and sustainability standards.

Qualifications and Skills :

Compensation Range : $130,000 - $180,000 + 10% Bonus
