Purchasing of Raw and Finished Goods – Manufacturing & Control Valves - Manufacturing Environment

Location : Houston, TX 77088 (on-site)

Employment Type : Full-Time

Department : Supply Chain / Procurement

SFE Group is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Specialist with strong experience in control valve procurement , ERP systems , and advanced Excel capabilities. This role is critical to driving efficient material flow and supporting our manufacturing operations through strategic purchasing and work order execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Procure control valves, raw materials, MRO, and facility maintenance items from external suppliers, ensuring best price and delivery.
  • Execute and maintain purchase orders based on ERP-driven demand (Syteline experience preferred).
  • Create and manage work orders to support production flow and meet sales demand.
  • Maintain accurate item master data including min / max levels, vendor details, and standard costs.
  • Communicate urgent material needs and potential outages to internal stakeholders and executive leadership.
  • Collaborate with logistics to optimize inbound shipments for cost and efficiency.
  • Support inventory accuracy and integrity through proactive purchasing and documentation.
  • Work within shared documents and TEAMS groups to keep cross-functional teams informed.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience buying control valves or similar industrial components.
  • Strong working knowledge of ERP systems (Syteline preferred).
  • Advanced Excel skills including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes and production scheduling.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • College degree or equivalent experience preferred.
