The Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) is the agency charged with licensing and regulating State of Florida businesses and professionals, such as cosmetologists, veterinarians, condominiums, hotels, and restaurants.

The Work You Will Do :
This position is located within the Doral office of the Division of Florida Condominium, Timeshares and Mobile Homes and reports to the Bureau Chief of Public Engagement.
This position is responsible for overseeing the education teams located in our Doral, Fort Lauderdale, Tallahassee, Tampa and Orlando offices.
Your Specific Responsibilities :
The incumbent in this position is responsible for :
- all required tasks related to the management of supervisors and their employees.
- providing appropriate motivation to employees and meets with supervisory staff regularly.
- planning work flow and objectives and establishes deadlines.
- providing written and telephonic responses to complaints and inquiries from the public concerning issues regulated by the Division’s program areas.
- communicating with the public in a timely manner, and is knowledgeable in applying the statutes and administrative rules enforced by the division to varying factual scenarios.
- developing and maintaining a network of contacts among members and representatives of regulated industries.
- maintaining a wide range of general knowledge of Department and other agencies’ function in order to provide referral information to the public as needed.
- consulting with supervisors to determine areas of concern and possible solutions to problems in their regions.
- reporting and making recommendations to the Bureau Chief, Division Director or Deputy Director as to additional program needs necessary to carry out the agency's purpose as mandated by the Legislature.
- interviewing and recommending hires, suspensions, layoffs, promotions, disciplinary actions or rewards;
- ensuring training needs are met; approving attendance and leave requests, and performing all other administrative functions associated with the supervision of employees;
- planning, organizing and delegating work assignments to Education Supervisors with deadlines; evaluating work flows, work objectives and time utilization with staff;
- facilitating the organizing, preparing, and coordinating of condominium and cooperative educational seminars throughout the State of Florida as part of the Division’s legislative mandate to provide education to unit owners, board members, and CAM’s;
- designing, developing, delivering and evaluating training programs for in-house staff and the customer call center;
- developing and updating the Division’s educational materials; maintaining a wide range of general knowledge of the Division and other state agencies;
- communicating with management regarding the status and results of the training program, long-range planning and budgeting, needed resources, administrative enhancements, policy needs, and procedural enhancements;
- assisting in the maintenance and revision of the Bureau’s Policy and Procedures Manual;
- participating in public seminars and conferences; responding to inquiries from the public, media, industry and other governmental agencies;
- preparing reports and presentations;
Performs other related work as required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
- Knowledge of Florida Law and Administrative Rules related to Condominiums, Timeshares, Mobile Homes and Cooperatives.
- Knowledge of personnel policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of basic management principles and practices.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Skilled in managing databases and case tracking.
- Skilled in identifying critical issues with regard to complaints.
- Ability to travel by car to the Bureau’s central Florida field offices to conduct business on a regular basis.
- Ability to read, interpret and apply statutes and administrative rules to specific fact scenarios.
- Ability to supervise people.
- Ability to determine work priorities, assign work and ensure proper completion of work assignments.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
- Ability to collect, evaluate and analyze data to develop alternative recommendations, solve problems, document work and other activities relating to the improvement of operational and management practices.
- Ability to manage and direct subordinates in the investigation of complaints.
Ability to analyze basic condominium, timeshare, cooperative and mobile home documents.

Minimum Requirements :
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, at least two (2) years of investigation experience, and three (3) years of supervisory experience;
- OR A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, at least four (4) years of regulatory experience, and three (3) years of supervisory experience;
OR An associate's degree from an accredited college or university, at least four (4) years of investigation experience, four (4) years of regulatory experience, and six (6) years of supervisory experience.
