Job Responsibilities
- Oversee a comprehensive healthcare compliance program that aligns with federal and state regulations, industry standards, and best practices.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in laws and regulations related to healthcare compliance and privacy, including HIPAA and other applicable statutes.
- Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk; develop and implement corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues.
- Establish and manage a process for receiving, documenting, tracking, investigating, and taking action on all complaints concerning the organization's health compliance policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with other departments to direct compliance issues to appropriate channels for investigation and resolution.
- Monitor the performance of the healthcare compliance program and related activities on a continuing basis, taking appropriate steps to improve its effectiveness.
- Serve as the organization's Privacy Officer, ensuring the confidentiality and protection of patient health information.
- Develop, review, and revise policies and procedures to ensure they meet compliance and privacy standards.
- Manage internal compliance and privacy audits and coordinate with external audit entities when necessary.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Health Care Administration or related field required, Master’s Degree preferred.
- Three to Five years of Hospital Management experience.
- Health Care Compliance Certification : CHC or CHPC required or obtained within one year of hire.
- Demonstrated leadership ability with strong communication skills.
- Knowledge of applicable state and federal laws to include Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, False Claims Act, HIPAA regulations.
- Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, EHR).
