The Field Winding Engineer is generally responsible for providing electrical and winding repair services to customers operating a wide range of original equipment, which includes : generators, motors and ancillary systems.

As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for :

Responsibilities

• Performing winding inspection, electrical testing, maintenance and repairs on Generator HV windings on customer sites globally.
• Providing basic mechanical strip-down (and rebuild) of machines to gain access to the generator windings along with electrical testing on high and low voltage windings.
• Providing visual winding inspections of the stator, rotor and excitation system as well as in-situ generator winding repairs including stator re-wedge work.
• Working as part of a team for on-site stator strip and rewind operations.
• Assisting mechanical service engineer(s) on assignments, which will not necessarily involve winding related activities.
• Supervising and train internal and external customers.
• Interpreting technical drawings, specifications and technical requirements; prepare method statements and prepare detailed and concise reports for submission to customers. Attend technical meetings on site and at customers' premises.
• Conducting an on-site risk assessment on every assignment and record details thereof on the special form provided.
