All interested persons will need to re-apply for any future recruitment conducted for this classification.The Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) is recruiting for a Supervisor - Maintenance of Way.
Supervisor, Maintenance of Way, is the supervisory level of maintenance and repair work in the rail environment. Employee supervises the maintenance of rail, track, equipment and direct components, in addition will be required to supervise track inspectors and delegate repairs to meet Federal Railroad Administration standards.
Furthermore, the Supervisor, Maintenance of Way will be required to use MAXIMO. This position ensures Federal and OSHA safety standards are maintained during site work.
The Supervisor will track and analyze time, materials, and general expenses of maintenance projects. The Supervisor will directly supervise "A" and "B" repairmen.
The current vacancy is located at the Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) in Baltimore, Maryland.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Education : Graduation from a standard high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience : Three (3) years of experience repairing, installing, inspecting and cleaning rail and related facilities.
SUBSTITUTION INFORMATION :
Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience involving staff work related to the administration of rules, regulations, policies, procedures and processes, or overseeing or coordinating unit operations or functioning as a staff assistant on a year-for-year basis for the required education and experience.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS :
1. Employees are required to maintain a reliable communication link (telephone or beeper) for the purpose of emergency call back requirements.
2. Candidates will be subject to pre-employment drug testing in accordance with the Code of Federal Regulations 49 -Federal Department of Transportation Drug Alcohol Testing Protocols and Federal Transit Administration Alcohol Testing Rules.
3. Employees in this classification are subject to substance abuse testing in accordance with the Code of Federal Regulations 49 -Federal Department of Transportation Drug Alcohol Testing Protocols and Federal Transit Administration Alcohol Testing Rules and Transportation Code of Maryland regulations 11.

Licenses & Certifications
Applicants must possess a Driver's License valid in the state of Maryland. Applicants must list the license number and date of expiration on the application.
Employees in this classification are assigned duties which require a valid, State of Maryland Commercial Drivers License (CDL) class B drivers license.
