Project Manager (Banking/Financial Domain)

Akkodis is seeking a Project Manager for a Contract job with a client in New York, NY / Jersey City, NJ . Ideally looking for applicants with a solid background in the financial services industry and a PMP certification would be a big plus.

Rate Range : $60 / hour to $65 / hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Mandatory Skills :

• 5 7 years of Equities Project Management experience and very strong Agile delivery experience.
• 5 7 years’ experience in project delivery of highly complex programs or projects with robust project governance.
• Excellent stakeholder management, strong interpersonal skills, relationship management skills to gain buy-in, build consensus and resolve conflicts timely.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate (written and verbal) with internal and external partners.
• Ability to manage conflicts across teams.
• Broad understanding of cash equity trade lifecycle (Trading, Middle Office, Settlements, Collateral Management)
• Tools MS Work, Excel and PowerPoint, Jira, Wiki, and Confluence
• Ability to coordinate internal resources and third parties / vendors for the flawless execution of projects.
• Ability to track and analyze projects’ performance, expenditures, procurement, and report about any possible or current blockers, risks, overflows, deficits.
• Strong attention to detail with problem solving & organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities for concurrent projects effectively.
• Strong decision-making skills with an assertive and proactive communication style
• Must have excellent organizational skills and be able to handle multiple tasks to meet extremely compressed deadlines.
• Ability to analyze and communicate changes to leadership to provide risk assessment and relaying change objectives.

Preferred :

• Knowledge of Securities Lending or Prime Financing is desirable.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) Certified
• Experience negotiating with customers to develop project task deliverable dates.
• Experience with task scheduling and resource assignment
• SCRUM Master
