Job Summary :
The Associate Manager of Infrastructure Engineering will oversee a team of technologists dedicated to architecture and engineering in hybrid, multicloud hosting environments, including Azure, Google Cloud, AWS and on-premises colocation partners.
They will lead initiatives focusing on Network and Data Center functions, requiring expertise in enterprise networking, network security, virtualization, storage, and server operating systems and roles.
The role involves managing technologies such as Palo Alto Firewalls, ZScaler Remote Access, Meraki, VMware, Pure Storage, Cisco UCS, and Cisco ACI.
This role is both hands-on and entails significant leadership responsibilities.
Responsibilities :
- Lead and mentor a team of infrastructure engineers, fostering collaboration and professional development while driving accountability.
- Cultivate a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the team.
- Drive architecture and engineering efforts in hybrid, multicloud hosting environments, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security across various technologies, including Palo Alto Firewalls, ZScaler Remote Access, Meraki, VMware, Pure Storage, Cisco UCS, and Cisco ACI.
- Oversee virtualization technologies and storage solutions, optimizing performance and resource allocation using VMware and Pure Storage technologies.
- Manage server operating systems, ensuring stability, security, and compliance with best practices across various environments.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members, fostering continuous improvement and accountability.
- Drive project planning and execution, establishing accountability mechanisms to track progress and address any deviations from timelines or objectives.
- Collaborate with technology vendors and service providers to evaluate technologies and solutions, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and optimizing cost-effectiveness.
- Maintain thorough documentation of infrastructure configurations, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Drive initiatives for process improvement and optimization, leveraging accountability mechanisms to drive efficiency and innovation within the team.
Requirements :
- Ability to inspire and lead a team toward common goals, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
- Strong background in enterprise networking, network security, virtualization, storage, and server operating systems, with proficiency in Azure, GCP, and other relevant technologies.
- Proficient in analyzing complex technical issues and developing effective solutions across diverse technology stacks to achieve desired outcomes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience in planning, prioritizing, and executing infrastructure projects within defined timelines and budgets.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, technology vendors, and service providers.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, adapting to evolving business requirements and technology landscapes.
Education / Experience :
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in infrastructure engineering, with a focus on enterprise networking, virtualization, storage, and server technologies.
- Previous experience in an Enterprise Hybrid Cloud environment with Palo Alto Firewalls, ZScaler Remote Access, Meraki, VMware, Pure Storage, Cisco UCS, and Cisco ACI is highly desirable.
- Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role preferred.
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., Azure, GCP, AWS, Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), VMware Certified Professional (VCP), etc.) are a plus.
