The Shipping Clerk is responsible for all products leaving the facility and ensuring they meet Boyd and our customer requirements for quality and timeliness.
In addition, individual will be responsible for managing packaging supplies and inventory. Essential job responsibilities include :
- Inspects and prepares package / products in accordance with job ticket instructions and to ensure accuracy.
- Packs, seals and generates labels and all necessary documentation such as shipping instructions.
- Determines best method of shipping for materials using knowledge of shipping procedures, best practices, as well as established process.
- Ensure weights and shipping charges are posted in the ERP system.
- Maintains accurate inventory of shipping materials and communicates appropriately to ensure adequate supplies at all times.
- Communicates with shipping carriers and agents for issue resolution.
- Maintains schedule and ensure products are shipped on a timely manner.
- Ensures work area is clean after shift assignments are completed.
- Performs driving duties as needed.
- Moves production materials and job orders to the appropriate workstations throughout the plant.
- Uses the barcode wanding system and computer to enter materials into the system and enter a job’s next designated workstation.
Reviews job tickets to determine the next work station for jobs. Checks material traveler sheets for discrepancies.
- Researches and troubleshoots missing data on materials and job tickets.
- Unloads, moves, and stores a variety of raw materials and finished parts.
- Unloads and moves incoming materials between departments following routing, material requisitions, or job orders.
- Moves orders from storage areas and warehouse stock and delivers to designated department or shipping area.
- Other duties as required.
- The pay range for this position : $20.00 $22.00 / hour, FLSA status : non-exempt

Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- At least 1 year of shipping / warehouse experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment utilizing small package, LTL and international shipping carriers.
- Previous experience operating a forklift or other equipment required to move product and shipments in warehouse.
- Attention to detail with a focus on quality and accuracy
- Strong written and verbal skills with ability to communicate effectively in English
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Solid problem-solving skills
- Strong math skills
- Familiarity with shipping software, creating commercial invoices by applying applicable regulations.
- Ability to work under pressure with time constraints.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to operate a forklift, tier-lift truck, or use a hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Good decision-making skills

- Experience using a PC including intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office and the Internet.
