Associate Administrative Assistant

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Associate Administrative Assistant to join our team. The Associate Administrative Assistant performs work under direct supervision. In this role, you possess beginner to working knowledge of subject matter, handle basic issues and problems associated with department administration and clerical support, and refer more complex issues to higher-level staff.
This is a full-time, non-exempt, on-site position. Interviews will take place the week of October 6th, 2025 for those selected to move forward in the hiring process.
Salary : $45,177.60 to $53,081.60 ($21.72 to $25.52 per hour).
2025 Anoka County Salary Schedule Grade 26 : $45,177.60 to $60,964.80 ($21.72 to $29.31 per hour).

This position will work at Blaine Human Services Center, located at 1201 89th Ave NE, Blaine, MN 55434.
Expected work hours are Monday Friday 8 : 00 a.m. 4 : 30 p.m.
Provide clerical and secretarial support for the department and troubleshoot basic issues related to department administration.
Deliver remarkable customer service while answering phones, providing front desk support, assisting walk-in guests, and reserving facilities.
Sort, process and distribution of incoming and outgoing mail and scanning documents to staff.
Respond to phone call inquiries from the public, providing accurate information and transfer of calls.
Coordinate and prepare materials for various projects and mass mailings.
Provide back-up support in the career lab assisting customers on the computer and with job search.
Create and edit memos, letters, reports, and presentations as directed. Enter data into systems as needed.
Act as a liaison and point of contact for the department as assigned.
Perform special projects, clerical tasks and other duties as assigned.
Requires a high school diploma.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus, such as to work on computers. Ability to see colors, shades, and brightness.
Hearing abilities required for general and phone communication, signals, and machine sounds.
Assignments are sedentary, occasionally alternating between sitting, standing, walking, crouching, and kneeling as required to perform job responsibilities. Frequent wrist and finger manipulation to complete computer work.
Occasional lifting of 10-20 lbs.
Equipment used includes computers, phones, and standard office equipment.
Occasional travel to other county work sites as needed. Travel between work sites may require driving a county vehicle and / or a personal vehicle.
