Talis Group’s client is a leading manufacturer in the consumer products space. This growing company is seeking a dynamic and union environment experienced HR Manager to join their team in Southern Indiana (near Louisville, KY).
As an integral part of their HR leadership, this role will support a large, unionized workforce. The ideal candidate will have a strong generalist background, solid union experience, and the proven ability to recruit hourly and salary staff.
Bilingual (Spanish & English) proficiency a plus. This company offers an excellent benefit and relocation package with bonuses, profit sharing, and salary at $135-$145k.
Highlighted Duties :
- Work closely with leadership to develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.
- Promote positive employee / labor relations, walk the floor , and investigate employee issues.
- Lead and develop a small onsite HR team that supports Employee / Labor Relations, Recruiting, Training and Safety.
- Provide decision support through the compilation and reporting of various HR data.
- Oversee workplace investigations, disciplinary action, and ensure consistency in the application of policies.
- Work closely with union representatives to administer contracts, manage grievances, and navigate union relationships.
Qualifications :
- Seeking bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, SHRM certification desired.
- Manufacturing industry experience required.
- Proven experience with union relations and contract administration.
- In-depth knowledge of labor law and HR best practices.
- Minimum 7 years of progressive HR Generalist background.
- Extensive Excel experience (advanced user level).
- Build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company.
- Ability to work onsite and be available across three shifts as occasionally needed.
- Fluency in English and Spanish (verbal / written) a plus.
