Assistant/Associate Professor (Tenure track) – Clinical and Diagnostic Sciences

Job Description Summary

The School of Health Sciences at Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan invites qualified persons with a passion for Clinical and Diagnostic Sciences to apply for this full-time tenure track position with rank and salary commensurate with experience.

• As a member of the department of Clinical and Diagnostic Sciences (CDS) the expectations of this position are to : provide disciplinary expertise and teaching in clinical microbiology and related disciplines;
• establish a line of peer-reviewed research and scholarship; advance clinical professional relationships with medical system partners for research, clinical, and teaching goals;

and provide service to the school, university, and communities of practice including participation in student recruitment and retention, continuous academic program refinement, new program development, and active involvement in professional organizations.

Individuals with prior teaching experience in a Medical Laboratory Science program is preferred. The incoming faculty member will have the opportunity to engage in teaching and / or research within the newly established graduate and physician assistant programs as well.

Minimum Qualifications Minimum requirements are PhD and must have certification in Medical Laboratory Science (ASCP) or Medical Technology (ASCP) and 2 years of recent clinical experience in a clinical diagnostic microbiology laboratory.
