CONTEXT

The planning organization of Specialized is responsible for the development, execution, and monitoring of a consensus demand forecast and supply plan.

As a top contributor within the function, you will play a critical role in 3 major areas :

  • Development of a consensus Demand Forecast for a set of products,
  • Coordination and execution of a Supply Plan for that set of products, and,
  • Contribution to our S&OP process, highlighting key inventory, sales, and planning topics for alignment among key stakeholders, and ultimately resolution.

As a core demand planning teammate, this role will also aid in the implementation of demand-planning process improvement programs.

This position has a centralized focus, and requires a broad-based view of supply chain, Sales, Finance and Category initiatives.

HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

  • Generate a demand forecasts at the SKU and model level using a variety of inputs but not limited to : historical data, market intelligence, product lifecycle plans, supply constraints, POS data and inventory position
  • Work with planning manager, category leader, sales, marketing, finance and supply chain to build and maintain a consensus demand forecast and resulting supply plan
  • Support the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process and inventory plans to hit targets for inventory quality and performance
  • Work proactively with sales, marketing, finance and supply chain to identify key forecast inputs, market assumptions / drivers for current line items, new product introductions (NPI), carry in-line (CIL) and end of life (EOL) items
  • Generate, manage, and publish KPI and metrics to help track and identify shifts in trends and forecasts, using Excel, Oracle, Discoverer and Tableau
  • Manage end of life / excess & obsolete (E&O) stock items, identify risk and propose action plans to mitigate risk, meet and exceed E&O targets while minimizing profit impact

WHAT YOU NEED TO WIN

  • Demonstrated analytical skills with ability to manipulate large sets of data
  • Expert level proficiency in use of MS Excel
  • Strong communication skills, with a proven ability to understand key concepts and communicate with business stakeholders.
  • Knowledge and understanding of S&OP, purchasing, forecasting and inventory management
  • Ability to think creatively and analyze data while facing ambiguity and uncertainty
  • Time management skills and the ability to prioritize work while under pressure in a fast-paced work environment
  • Self-motivation and enthusiasm to drive the day-to-day analysis requirements
  • High level of energy, passion and enthusiasm for outdoor lifestyle in general and cycling in particular
  • Location - based near the Morgan Hill, CA, Salt Lake City UT, or Columbus, OH a plus but not required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain / Logistics, Finance, or related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in a Supply Chain function that includes demand, supply and / or inventory planning

Pay : Below is a summary of compensation elements for this role at the company if based in the following locations :

California Base Pay Range : $55,228 - $91,126
