Network Engineer

The Opportunity :

A well-designed network is critical to move data and enable organizations to achieve their missions, but how can an organization make sure their network will fit their current and evolving needs?

That’s why we need you, an experienced network engineer who knows how to develop the exact network the Air Force needs.

As a network engineer on our team, you’ll use your experience in installing, operating, and maintaining networks to support the nation’s defense and respond to evolving adversaries.

You’ll troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues and increase security, reliability, and availability for mission-critical network systems.

You’ll apply your expertise in routing and switching as you join our team of problem-solvers to help the DoD evolve and deploy new capabilities and technologies.

Your knowledge of network transport medium will come in handy as you optimize client operations and modernization. Using your technical curiosity and knowledge of industry standards, you’ll make an impact on national security missions.

You Have :

10+ years of experience with installing, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting DoD classified and unclassified networks, including routers, switches, and cabling

Knowledge of network transport medium, including fiber, wireless, and copper, networking backbone, including physical, data, network, and transport, wireless communication infrastructure equipment and services, and network security devices and applications

Ability to install or maintain communication infrastructure equipment and services, including user access drops, Domain Name Server (DNS), Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP), configure and manage Internet Protocol (IP) address space and VLANs, and document and maintain accurate enterprise network architecture diagrams

TS / SCI clearance

Master's degree

Nice If You Have :

Knowledge of DoD Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIGs), customer guidance, and commercial best security and engineering practices

Ability to document and maintain accurate enterprise network architecture diagrams in accordance with the customer's change and configuration management processes and the DoD Architecture Framework (DoDAF)

Possession of excellent technical writing skills

Clearance :

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information;

TS / SCI clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements.

The projected compensation range for this position is $96,700.00 to $220,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
