Position Overview :

Our BI & Reporting Technical Coach provides Member / Customer support for reporting / business intelligence needs and also develops and maintains reports / visualizations.

Customer service and trouble-shooting skills are required. Success requires the ability to communicate with internal and external customers clearly and effectively as well as proficiency with querying and presenting data in reports / visualizations.

This role focuses on developing a firm foundation within one or more products in NISC’s enterprise as well as mastering the fundamentals of NISC’s reporting / business intelligence tools.

Essential Functions :

  • Consult with our Members / Customers to create, improve & optimize reports.
  • Consult with our Members / Customers to create, improve & optimize database objects including SQL statements, views, functions, and stored procedures.
  • Effectively gather requirements and design new reports.
  • Recommend standard reporting for custom requests from our Members / Customers.
  • Spearhead troubleshooting, research, and correction of reports / database objects requiring review.
  • Accurately estimate effort for requested custom reports.
  • Provide superior internal and external customer service via telephone, email, CRM, face-to-face and other means as needed.
  • Periodically adjust hours or travel to accommodate support and training needs as required.
  • Work closely with coach to develop aggressive and attainable goals.

Desired Experience and Skills :

  • Basic to advanced knowledge of business intelligence, report writing, data visualizations, or related experience.
  • Basic to advanced knowledge of SQL.
  • Basic to advanced knowledge of Tableau, PowerBI or other industry leading BI solutions.
  • Specific experience with Oracle is a plus.
  • Experience with contemporary cloud data architectures (AWS)
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to NISC's Statement of Shared Values.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills. Ability to organize and prioritize concurrent projects.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Familiarity with accounting theory, the electric or telecom industries, and / or NISC is a plus.

Education Preferred :

Bachelor’s Degree in a business-related field or equivalent experience.
