We are a vibrant and diverse pre-kindergarten-grade 8 Catholic school in north Seattle. We support and guide our students in their mental, physical, and spiritual growth of excellence, service and love.

Approximately 70% of our students are students of the global majority and we seek staff who will value and appreciate each student and their families.

We are focused on helping each student prepare academically, and to be active community members and leaders in high school, college and beyond.

Do you love teaching and sharing your knowledge and faith to inspire kids to learn and grow? We are seeking a positive, innovative, engaging, and student-centered Fitness Teacher and Athletic Director Part time (3 days a week) to join our teaching team.

QUALIFICATIONS :

Teacher Characteristics :

Knowledge and Skills :

  • Designs and adapts instruction to meet a range of student learning needs and interests
  • Continues improvement and professional development
  • Organizes and introduce individual and team sports to students
  • Develops lesson plans and supplementary material that are engaging
  • Accommodates different learning styles and instruction methodology for all learners
  • Works collaboratively on behalf of students, and seeks the ideas, feedback or advice of colleagues
  • Is a role model by making students feel motivated and follow the school principle of PRISM (Pride, Respect, Inclusion, Safety and Manners)
  • Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior through relationship, positive reinforcement and support
  • Creates and maintains a positive classroom environment
  • Teaches and develops strategies to resolve conflict
  • Evaluates and documents academic and social growth of students, and keeps required records
  • Communicates regularly and thoroughly with families
  • Supervises and monitors students in class and during transitions
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job

Athletic Director Responsibilities :

  • Coordinates with Catholic Youth Organization (CYO)
  • Works with parish, parents and other athletic directors
  • Schedules practices

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Current Washington State Teaching Certificate
  • Experience working with a diverse population

Salary : Depending on experience and qualifications, the salary ranges from $27,600 - $32,000. This is a part-time position and is not eligible for benefits.

Full time opportunity available. Salary negotiable. Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, degrees, and certifications.
