Description
The Director of Finance will be responsible for, but not limited to, financial planning and analysis, tax management, treasury, cash management, and working closely with the accounting team on financial reporting for all locations in North America as well as interface with India Headquarters.
This position will work to continually identify financial system enhancements and process improvement opportunities. The Director of Finance will act as a strategic partner to the business in support of the company achieving long-term financial objectives.
This position reports to the Vice President of Finance.
Essential Functions

- Lead the financial planning process, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling, ensuring a. Provide insightful analysis and recommendations to drive strategic decision-making and optimize resource allocation.
- Oversee cash flow planning, monitor liquidity, and manage working capital effectively to support the company's operations and growth initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with all tax regulations, accounting standards, and financial reporting requirements. Support interaction with internal / external auditors and tax authorities, as necessary.
- Participate in strategy development and execution to drive improve financial and operational performance.
- Work with the Controller to produce detailed consolidated financial summaries for actuals and forecasts. Include commentary highlighting the key drivers impacting financial performance.
In addition provide audit support, as necessary.
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial reports, statements, and analysis including audit support. Present financial performance to the Executive Team and Operations, highlighting key financial metrics and identifying areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement robust internal controls and risk management processes to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
- Analyze and make recommendations on business processes and financial systems and tools based on experience, analysis, best practices and best-in-class optimization.
- Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual tax process.
- Oversee the year-end audit process.
- Maintain proper internal controls for procuring goods and services, such as equipment services and supplies, for TVS SCS NA locations.
- Prepare ad hoc reports as needed.
- Perform other Finance department functions as needed.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.
The associate may occasionally be required to lift 15 pounds, anything greater than 15 pounds may require assistance. Specific vision abilities required the ability to work at a computer and view presentations at a distance.
Work Environment
This job is performed in an office environment. Must be able to sit at a desk working on a computer for long periods of time.
For training, educational purposes, or other required business reasons the employee may be exposed to a warehouse environment with high forklift traffic.
The employee is required to be PPE dressed : steel -toed shoes and safety glasses when on warehouse floor.
Position Type / Expected Hours of Work
Full Time, Exempt. Schedule flexibility for extended or unplanned work hours is required. At times, meetings may be arranged to accommodate all global regions.
Travel
Occasional travel between locations may be required.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics (CPA and / or MBA preferred). Master's in Finance or MBA is a plus.
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience in a distribution, manufacturing, supply chain, 3PL / 4PL environment.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of financial, accounting, and budgeting principles including US GAAP and IFRS
- Knowledge of ERP systems, including Microsoft Dynamics, Hyperion, and Power BI
- Proven ability to use statistical analysis to solve business problems and improve profitability.
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
