Process Improvement Engineer Job Summary

The Process Improvement Engineer is responsible for identifying and managing Industrial Engineering projects to optimize processes and efficiencies across company sites.

The Process Improvement Engineer will oversee projects, monitor and report on cost, schedule, safety, and quality through all project phases from planning through completion and impact assessment.

Process Improvement Engineer Responsibilities

  • Review production schedules, engineering specifications, process flows, and other information to impact overall quality, costs, safety, and delivery performance.
  • Analyze, standardize and implement best practices across their area of responsibility.
  • Ensure SOP, TPA, and Flat Rates exist for all processes and develop as needed.
  • Ensure safety and ergonomics are instituted for all processes.
  • Support internal customer and supplier quality issues and develop root cause resolution.
  • Analyze operations and design workflows to ensure the final product meets the customer and company quality standards
  • Simplify the TPA data capture and liaise between operations and customer for contractual requirements to sustain and grow
  • Standardization of efficiency KPIs and best practices across the Logistics services network
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives through standardization of operations throughout Logistics Services sites.
  • Industrialize process flows to reduce waste and inefficiency.
  • Facilitate customer and site management interaction to develop standards for design and production.
  • Analyze new business opportunities and support with input critical to RFQ development and business growth.
  • Monitor, review and analyze TPAs for process improvements / revenue enhancements / cost reductions.
  • Assist in root cause analysis / deep dives for quality issues and eliminate through effective countermeasures and ongoing follow-up.
  • Act as gatekeeper for industrial engineering support needs and evaluating potential impact to determine projects to be handled in-house, outsourced, or not pursued.
  • Manage projects to ensure that objectives and deadlines are met and work is performed within the agreed-upon budget.

Process Improvement Engineer Position Requirements

  • 5 years of experience working as an Industrial Engineer
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or related field preferred.
  • Experience with process improvements, setting standards, time studies, root cause analysis, project costing methods.
  • Demonstrated success managing complex projects, including external resource management.
