Summary
The Industrial Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading a team tasked with maintaining and repairing machinery and equipment in an industrial environment.
This role involves overseeing daily maintenance operations, ensuring optimal equipment functionality, and reducing downtime.
The supervisor will schedule and manage preventive maintenance tasks, address emergency repairs, and ensure all activities comply with safety regulations and company policies.
Additional responsibilities include training and mentoring maintenance staff, managing budgets, procuring parts and supplies, and working collaboratively with other departments to meet production objectives.
Success in this position requires strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Key Functions & Responsibilities of the Industrial Maintenance Supervisor
Conduct preventive maintenance on equipment
Assist with general building and grounds maintenance duties
Help manage parts inventory and facilitate parts acquisition as necessary
Ensure adequate stock of shop supplies and place orders when needed
Maintain shop organization and cleanliness to support operational efficiency
Perform other tasks as assigned
Required Education, Skills, & Abilities of the Industrial Maintenance Supervisor
High School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in industrial maintenance
At least ten (10) years of electrical experience
Formal electrical training, particularly working with 480-volt systems
Proficiency with tools and general maintenance techniques
Experience with Microsoft Office
Ability to lead and train maintenance staff, providing valuable feedback to management
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Leads by example with a hands-on approach
Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced work environment
Capable of working independently and within a team
Effective time management skills
Self-motivated, proactive, and positive attitude
Able to build strong relationships with internal teams and external clients
Familiarity with plumbing systems
Advanced ability to read electrical schematics and PLC knowledge
Physically able to stand for extended periods, walk, push, pull, kneel, crouch, and crawl
Good manual dexterity and steady hand for detailed work
Ability to handle physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
