Summary : As a member of the Institute on Protective Services (Institute), the Training and Development Specialist will contribute to Pennsylvania’s efforts protecting vulnerable and older adults from abuse.

This position is an integral member of the Institute’s team providing education and case consultation services to protective services caseworkers, local law enforcement, and other community partners throughout the Commonwealth, both in person and virtually.

The Protective Services Training and Development Specialist designs, develops and delivers training programs and instructional material for classroom and e-Learning delivery, and also provides training virtually and in-person throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

The Training and Development Specialist works with the elder justice taskforces and local Area Agencies on Aging to strengthen responses to abuse and provides expert consultation to individuals and small groups.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Experience conducting trainings for professional audiences.

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.Required Skills & Abilities : *Knowledge and experience related to training and curriculum development

Knowledge and experience related to human services

Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications, ability to gather date, to compile information and prepare reports

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems
  • Ability to make administrative / procedural decisions and judgements
  • Ability to create, compose and edit written materials
  • Ability to travel overnight
  • A reliable means of transportation in order to travel to destinations within the Commonwealth not accessible by public transportationPreferred :

Master’s degree.

This is a grant funded position.

This position is assigned a hybrid work arrangement (on-campus and remote), the duration of this hybrid work arrangement is at the discretion of Temple University and the Department.
