The primary purpose of our Sr. Community Reinvestment Act (CRA)Compliance Specialist is to assist Great Lakes Credit Union to live out our vision, "To be the members' trusted financial partner".
The Sr. CRA Specialist is also responsible for reviewing commercial loans, donations, volunteering, and investments for GLCU and Mortgage Forward as spelled out in the Illinois Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), Ensuring or filing of Loan Activity Register (LAR) is filed timely.
Be the subject matter expert of the vendor(s) used for reporting CRA and ensure the state of Illinois CRA laws and regulations are followed by GLCU and Mortgage Forward.
As a Sr. CRA Specialist your duties will be :
- Performs the necessary functions to comply with CRA laws and regulations of the state of Illinois and GLCU's CRA policy and procedures.
- Review commercial and business loans and makes the determination for small business or community development classification.
- Reviews GLCU and GLCU Foundation donations for reporting qualifications and impact to GLCU and Mortgage Forward.
- Document volunteering for reporting qualifications and impact to GLCU and Mortgage Forward.
- Build reporting for the executive team, in addition to auditors and examiners, detailing loan in and out ratio, loans to low and moderate income individuals, and loans in low and moderate income census tracts.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Requirements needed to be part of this team :
- One to three years of similar or related experience
- A 2-year college degree, or completion of a specialized study at school, or extensive in house training.
- Demonstrated excellent customer service and communication skills.
- A passion for helping and supporting others.
- A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to multi-task and handle sensitive financial information.
