The ideal candidate will have an opportunity to work with MMAC’s team of dedicated subject matter experts and the organization’s leadership.
This position reports to the MMAC Vice President of Governmental Affairs.
What You’ll Do
- Monitor legislative activities and provide input on issues pertaining to MMAC advocacy priorities.
- Assist in developing and executing MMAC’s lobbying strategy.
- Serve as daily point of contact in the Wisconsin State Capitol on behalf of MMAC.
- Create and draft content including weekly reports, issue papers and briefings, as well as newsletter content and social media for the department and MMAC.
- Daily and weekly job responsibilities are primarily based in Madison, with some Milwaukee presence each week.
- Daily responsibilities may include administrative, legislative, and social tasks, including attending committee hearings at the State Capitol, monitoring legislative floor activity in the Senate and Assembly, scheduling meetings with legislators or staff, and attending social events after hours that may require some travel.
What You Bring :
- Successful track record of working with members of the state legislature, their staff, committees, and leadership offices, with 3-5 years of experience preferred.
- Superior writing and presentation skills.
- Ability to work closely and effectively with the Governmental Affairs team.
Education & Experience :
All backgrounds considered, but Bachelor’s degree in political science or similar field preferred. Minimum of 3 years of professional experience.

MMAC team members can expect to attend events outside of their own responsibility / division to support partners, clients, and organization efforts (some are before or after hours).
Attendance expectations will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis with your manager.
