Web and Digital Experience Manager (Communications Generalist)

As a member of the IU Global marketing and communications team within the Office of the Vice President for Communications and Marketing supporting the Office of International Affairs, the Web and Digital Experience Manager is responsible for the web and digital presence of all IU Global units.

Department- Specific ResponsibilitiesDesigns and organizes the structure, navigation, and overall experience of IU Global's websites to ensure they are user-friendly, intuitive, and effective.

Involves close collaboration with developers and stakeholders.Oversees and implements content updates within Cascade Server CMS.

Collaborates with website stakeholders to review existing websites and web pages, shaping web strategy and desired outcomes.

Performs testing and quality assurance of websites and web applications to ensure optimal functionality and performance.Acts as a liaison between Marketing and Communication team and IU Global teams, IU back-end web developers, and stakeholders to ensure optimal functionality, performance, scalability, and security.

Monitors analytics and prepares reports.Works within IU's Constituent Relationship Management (CRM) tools, Salesforce and Slate, to help build and deliver effective and dynamic digital communication campaigns and events using a combination of HTML, CSS, and CRM tools.

Works with the Marketing Director and the Communications Director to develop marketing, communications and creative strategies to promote Indiana University through web and digital channels and increase exposure to a target audience.

Ensures alignment with university mission, strategies, objectives, and brand guidelines across all digital platforms and content.

Designs users experience interfaces to ensure consistent and engaging platforms.May plan and develop integrated digital advertising schedules.General Responsibilities

Independently creates basic and complex communications for print and e-distribution on behalf of department or large multi-faceted department and in support of departmental goals and objectives;

communications may be interdepartmental; staff, faculty, or student-focused; or external.Responds to inquiries and requests and explains policies, procedures, and context of communications.

Manages relationships with various internal and external stakeholders and creates communications coverage for relevant initiatives, events, and programs.

Prepares communications timelines and shares progress of communications toward relevant deadlines with manager, team members, and other relevant constituents.

Regularly monitors relevant social media and news sites; researches relevant subject matter to increase knowledge in area(s) of specialty.

Utilizes various communications software programs and delivers communications in multiple formats to a variety of audiences.

Monitors industry trends and best practices and makes process and operational recommendations to manager.May provide guidance to lower-level Communications Generalists.Qualifications

Combinations of related education and experience may be considered. Education beyond the minimum required may be substituted for work experience.

EDUCATION

Required

Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, English, public relations, UX / UI design, computer science, graphic design, human computer interaction or related fieldPreferred

This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment.
