Shipping Associate

PrideStaff is seeking a skilled and talented Shipper / Receiver for a manufacturing industrial facility of Material Handling and Storage Equipment in Mooresville, NC.

Pay : $17 / hr. based on skill and experience

Schedule : Monday through Thursday 7 : 00 am - 5 : 00 pm

Responsibilities

• Perform assigned duties concerned with the preparation, dispatching, and loading of shipments and with the receipt and storage of raw materials, equipment, and supplies.
• Check products to be shipped against delivery copies, locate and move items to the dock area.
• Weigh and count, check descriptions and numbers to insure proper amounts, identification, and correct materials.
• Initiate, attach and forward copies of bills of materials and bills of lading.
• Select and contact truck carriers, conforming with customer requests as possible, to make pick-ups.
• Participate in the loading operations and the bracing and securing of loads.
• Unload incoming raw materials, equipment and supplies.
• Check in received goods as to identification, dimension, weight, quantity, etc., and visually inspect for damage; report any discrepancies to Supervisor
• Move materials to locations as instructed or to appropriate open areas.
• Maintain general knowledge of inventory quantities of assigned items and report when stocks are low.
• Operate forklift truck, overhead crane, and hand trucks to move, load, and unload materials; perform other general labor duties as time permits and as assigned.
• Requires the ability to read and write, add and subtract, use direct reading and fixed gauges plus up to one year's experience.
• Occasionally perform assembly operations on parts that have been painted prior to shipment.
• Perform various packaging functions, being responsible for the accuracy of the count and the quality of the packaging.
• Has overall responsibility for maintaining the shipping departments in a neat and orderly manner.
