Position Purpose

A versatile position within a dynamic non-profit that provides . The Project Coordinator is full time and is responsible for overseeing work sites;

troubleshooting, ensuring quality control and offering technical support to the Site Supervisors and Volunteer Team Leaders.

Reporting Relationships

  • Reports to Program Director or Project Manager
  • Roles reporting to position Response Team Leaders (Volunteers)

Essential Functions

  • Troubleshoot problems on worksites and offer technical support to the field team members, especially Site Supervisors, Team Leaders, and Volunteers
  • Oversee workflow and quality control across work sites.
  • Monitor safety on the worksites and provide training to team leaders and volunteers in risk assessment, proper tool usage, building skills and PPE.
  • Ensure compliance with general safety standards.
  • Organize and perform maintenance of tools and supervise proper handling and storage.
  • Assist as needed in the site assessment and selection process, building and managing queue, and data entry into Salesforce.
  • In collaboration with the Project Manager, oversee the Team Leader training program and monitor Trainee progress.
  • Provide technical guidance to other staff and volunteers in hazardous substance identification, mold sanitation, muck and gut, debris removal, and other response scopes
  • Listen to the needs of our clients and facilitate communication between them and the site lead
  • We have decided to relax the requirement for Covid-19 vaccination for on program staff. While we still strongly recommend Covid-19 vaccination, along with other standard and travel immunizations as recommended by the CDC and WHO, Covid-19 vacation will no longer be required
  • Other duties as required.

Position Requirements

  • Education High school diploma required.
  • Related Experience 1+ years in residential remodeling / construction OR disaster response required. Experience leading volunteers in disaster response or other similar settings preferred.

Previous All Hands and Hearts, AmeriCorps, or Peace Corps experience preferred.

  • Special Competencies / Certifications Drivers License required. Excellent construction, tool, material & safety knowledge, with ability to teach these skills to volunteers, Site Supervisors, and Team Leader trainees.
  • Good written and oral communication skills and confident working with Google Workspace, particularly Google Docs and Google Sheets;

and Microsoft Office. The individual needs to be well organized and have a flexible approach to managing multiple tasks and prioritizing them appropriately.

The individual is able to manage a large workload and perform in a fast-paced environment. Early July start date.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands

  • Constantly works in outdoor adverse weather conditions
  • Frequently moves items weighing up to 40 lbs on work site or on base
  • Frequently operates construction equipment (table saws, impact drivers, drills, and more)
  • Frequently operates computer
  • Frequently ascends / descends ladders
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position
  • Frequent travel
  • Living in communal environment
  • High stress situations in an immediate post-disaster environment with limited amenities

Compensation & Benefits

  • Typical starting salary is $14 - $15 / hour, and up to $16 for highly qualified candidates who have previous experience in this role
