PRINCIPLE OBJECTIVE

Provide administrative and clerical support for the Family Ministry Pastors / Directors and their teams. This position will support various main office functions including preparing correspondence, answering phones, monitoring office inventory and ordering supplies, maintaining calendars, and various other assignments as needed.

Ensure communication across departments.

PRINCIPLE WORKING RELATIONSHIP

This position reports to the Family Ministry Pastor and Family Ministry team. The position has interaction PCC staff, parents, volunteers, schools, and the broader community.

The position is a member of the Family Ministry team and interfaces with all ministries throughout PCC.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

General Duties

  • Database records maintenance, support, and training.
  • Manage inter-department and volunteer communication
  • Departmental calendaring and coordination
  • Maintains meeting space, offices, and storage. Ensure necessary supplies are available.

Ministry Specific Duties

  • Provide administrative support for Family Ministry (Children, Students, Parents) in the following areas :
  • Event planning support that could be similar to including promotion, registration support, facilities or rentals communication, and budget tracking.
  • Weekly support for department leads for facilities and calendaring purposes
  • Support staff for use of technology for Check-In Systems, reports, and PCO resources
  • Support for department leads to help communicate items to appropriate teams at PCC
  • Support Family Ministry external communications with coordination, design, and support.
  • Manage email and mail communication from Family Ministries programs and staff to parents, students, the congregation at large, and outside groups / individuals.
  • Oversee and provide for the production of internal and external publications for Children’s, Student, and Family Ministries.

Create and maintain templates, forms, and procedures for each ministry’s regular and special communications.

  • In collaboration with the Student Ministry Director / Pastor Team Lead, with oversight by the Family Ministry Director / Pastor, assist in developing the missional, spiritual and programmatic direction for PCC Student Ministries.

  • Individuals
  • Retreats
  • Assist to ensure safety of all persons through diligence and implementation of all policies, procedures, and rules.

  • Proficient with Mac, PC, Google Doc, and MS Office software.
  • Demonstrates evidence of a Christ-like attitude in words and actions.
  • Team-oriented : able to work with staff, volunteers, parents, and student leadership team.
  • Understand that the Bay Area is a mission field. Less than 3% of the Peninsula is aware of a Christian worldview.

EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION

  • A faithful follower of Jesus.
  • Bachelor’s degree or greater preferred (current college enrollment is acceptable).
  • Minimum one year related experience preferred.
  • Experience in a church, school, or community setting is highly preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to interact and engage with school-aged youth
  • Must be able to lift, transport, and set up equipment up to 30 pounds
  • Extensive walking and standing on a 14-acre campus required
  • Must have a clean, current DMV record
  • DOJ background clearance required
  • Must adhere to and model PCC’s Safe Church policies

WORKWEEK

  • This position is full-time, non-exempt with 40 hours per week.
  • This position is primarily a M-F / Sunday job
  • This position will be expected to work on Sundays, some evenings, and some holidays.
